Elk City 2006

In July of 2006 three couples from our church partnered with a couple from First Baptist Powell to coordinate a vacation bible school for Elk City Baptist church, in Elk City, Idaho. God blessed this trip from beginning to end. The three couples from our church; Phil and Celia Groos, Chris and Kathi Lonas, and Randy and Michelle Singleton all felt a special calling to go. This was a first for all of us from T.C.A.S.H., but God truly blessed us, and the trip was a success and a blessing. The pastor of Elk City Baptist Church had told us to expect around twenty kids, but to our great surprise, forty three attended that week! We got to see God work in powerful ways each and every day. From answered prayers, to seeing ten children come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, God’s power was on display. For those of us who went, we got the chance to step out of our comfort zones and do something we felt God leading us to do. We want to thank our wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ at The Church at Sterchi Hills, whose prayers were felt every day, and whose financial support helped our church to heed God’s call. God willing, the mission team will once again be heading to Elk City in 2007.
